Mata Atlântica do Rio: Macacú (Brazil)
The Guapi-Macacú River Basin (GMRB) is located within the state of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), northeast from the Guanabara Bay and the city Rio de Janeiro. The project concentrates in the hydrological processes of the Atlantic Forest and its ecological diversity. Since the Atlantic Forest in this region has one of the most valuable biodiversity, the need of scientific research on drought and flood risk management is indispensable. ITT has developed with partner institutions an unique project in this region which aimes to serve as a guideline for other Latin American and worldwide countries with similar natural caracteristics.

Brazilian-German training course on Water Resources
The need for training courses on Water Resources in Brazil plays a remarkable role, because society and governments are getting more aware of the emerging environmental problems in their country. Hence, the overall goal of the postgraduate training course was to contribute to the education of experts in the field of water resources sciences and management. Different workshops took place in August/ September 2014 in Resende in the Rio Dois Rios Basin within the INTECRAL (ITT) project. This email address is being protected from spambots.
